I absolutely love and enjoy the picture galleries of London and, on this trip, the special NG exhibition: "Rembrandt: The Late Works"; get the catalogue . On entering the exhibition's first room of seven rooms displaying 91 works, I was totally overcome with awe to be viewing and actually in the surround presence of some of the Master's finest self portraits. And, there before me, among four others, his 'Self Portrait with Two Circles' (below) from the Kenwood House, which I had recently seen in 2011 at the Met in NYC, on loan I guess since the KH was in renovation until 2013. The Kenwood House, a pleasant day trip by the tube and a pleasant stroll, has a marvelous collection with the likes of Rembrandt, Halls, Vermeer, Van Dyck, Reynolds... Holy manoly!! So much art in London it overwhelms, and one of the NG's Leonardo da Vinci's (below) has the ability to messmerize and did me....On the next page, I've selected photo details I took of intriguing paintings at the Tate Britian (TB), the Tate Modern (TM), The Courtauld
Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery (NPG). Click image for an interesting enlargement.
